Master the Art of Playing Defense
The School of Defense is a focused, week-long development camp designed specifically for young hockey players who want to strengthen their defensive game. Built for both newer and experienced defensemen, this camp teaches the detailed skills, habits, and mindset required to excel on the blue line.

Throughout the week, players will receive targeted instruction on skating techniques for defense, gap control, stick positioning, breakout execution, angling, net-front play, and smart decision-making under pressure. Each session blends high-tempo drills with game-like situations so players can immediately apply what they learn.

Our coaches emphasize confidence, poise, and hockey IQ, helping players understand not just how to defend—but why certain reads and movements lead to success. Whether an athlete is transitioning into the position or looking to take their defensive game to the next level, the School of Defense sets them up for meaningful improvement.

Camp Highlights:

  • Position-specific instruction tailored exclusively for defensemen
  • Drills focused on footwork, mobility, and efficient defensive skating
  • Detailed teaching of gap control, body positioning, and stick detail
  • Breakout fundamentals, puck retrievals, and first-pass execution
